Erotic Photography vs. Classic Boudoir… What’s the difference?
If you’ve been considering a boudoir session, you may have come across both my classic boudoir and erotic photography packages - and wondered what really sets them apart (and if you haven’t gotten there yet, here’s the link!). This guide will help you understand the difference and choose the experience that aligns with you.
Classic Boudoir
Straight up, classic boudoir sessions are perfect for those who have not yet dipped their toes into the boudoir world. They are for those looking to explore on the more nuanced side of sexuality, but also tapping enough into their sensuality to feel sexual, ethereal, stunning, gorgeous… etc!!!!!
In a boudoir session, we are implying nudity moreso than showing it. Boudoir is flirty, soft and teasing. We are leading the viewer on, showing what’s to come. Panties being pulled down, tangled in bedsheets, hands enveloping bare breasts… I digress!
In a classic session, I will guide and pose you the entire way - facial expressions, body posing, vibe setting - I’ve got you. 99% of my clients have told me they were nervous before their first session, and 5 minutes into it they’ve forgotten why they were even nervous in the first place! (Proof of a boudoir photographer who knows how to direct and make their clients comfortable!)
Erotic Photo Sessions
My erotic photography packages go a bit further than the classic boudoir does, in several ways.
First - where boudoir is an implication of nudity, erotic photography turns the heat all the way up and involves a mixture of implied nude and full nude! These sessions are all about desire, expression and letting yourself go there fully. Where? That’s for you to find out. ;)
What we would shoot: half-clothed, lingerie, fully nude, implied sexual acts, kink expression.
What we would not shoot: porn (that’s a much more expensive package lol; basically fully sexual acts).
The next way it differs is in what the package provides you. A longer time shooting and more deliverables; a pre-planning moodboard so we know what erotic story we’re telling with your images - and so we agree to poses prior to our session! This makes sure we have zero surprises on shoot day and everyone walks away feeling comfortable, confident and respected. The main difference investment-wise between the classic boudoir and erotic sessions are that erotic sessions offer more, so they are more of an investment.
Special note: couples are ALWAYS welcome to shoot any of these packages! There is no extra charge.

Classic boudoir are a wonderful session for those looking for a confidence boost, a gift for their partner, or a way to reclaim their power. Erotic photo sessions are perfect for those looking for all of the above, but also looking to get in deeper touch with their sexual selves.
If you are someone who wants to book a classic boudoir session and wants a few shots of you nude, I will not say no! Erotic photo sessions are simply more intentional with the planning and execution of nudity on camera (and a lot more nudity). Because being naked on camera in front of a stranger IS vulnerable and can be scary at first! For this reason, I take extra measures to provide a safe and comfortable experience for everyone wanting to book in.
